The purpose of the article is to outline the necessity of incorporating cultural aspects into foreign language teaching and learning for English – majored students at Quang Binh university. It begins with the components of concept of culture. Also, the importance of cultural awareness in language acquisition is focused. In addition, the article mentions the reality of students’ cultural perception during language learning process. Furthermore, it proposes techniques to improve students’ cultural awareness, including cognitive capacities, attitudes/affective capacities, cultural behaviors. The conclusion emphasizes the significance of improving student’s cultural awareness in English language learning.
